2006-2007 College Football – Week 6 October 5, 2006

A much better week of games this time around. The past two weeks have been pretty boring, other than a BIG win for the ILLINI!!!
Here’s what I’m picking this week:
Indiana at Illinois
Washington at #3 USC
#9 LSU at #5 Florida
#7 Texas at #14 Oklahoma
Michigan State at #6 Michigan
#13 Tennessee at #10 Georgia
#11 Oregon at #16 California
My Picks:
Illinois, USC, LSU, Texas, Michigan State, Tennessee, and California
Upset Alert: USC – Look out Trojans. You haven’t been dominating teams as in years past, and if you have a sluggish game, you’re going down. However, I’m still picking the Trojans, because they have a superior defense which will give them the victory.
Other News: Auburn Coach Tommy Tuberville is calling for a playoff system, and for good reason. Read this article to see what he has to say. Basically, he hitsthis thing right on the head. The powers that be (University Presidents) basically said they couldn’t extend the season to add a playoff system, but yet they can add additional bowl games. It’s gotten to the point where it’s all about money and not about finding out who the best team in the Nation really is. Seriously, teams can be .500 and get to a bowl game, but yet a 13-0 team can’t get a shot at a National Title (As Tuberville’s Auburn team found out in 2004). Also, the article mentions that there are 5 SEC teams ranked in the top 13 right now. Do you think Tuberville knows he’s going to lose at least one game?
Illinois, USC, Florida, Texas, Michigan, Georgia, Oregon.
Why is it that I-AA and I-AAA can have a playoff but I-A can’t? That’s just BS. It’s the millions that conferences would lose if they scrapped the bowl system. That’s the real reason, and I’d wish the conference and university presidents would simply stop lying about it.
Yep, you’re right on the mark. It’s money, and it has been all along.
Why not find the best team? Anyways, college football already makes HUGE money. And a playoff would probably increase the money, not decrease it.
Indiana (unvelievable), USC, Florida, Texas, Michigan, Tennessee, and California
A 4-3 week.
