Rush is an IDIOT… September 21, 2006

I listen to bits and pieces of Rush Limbaugh on a daily basis. I keep contemplating the need for a clinical evaluation, but I figure it’s just my open mindedness getting the better of me.

Tuesday I was listening to Rush and he made this absurd comment (I’m paraphrasing, but this is very close to original. I’d love for a Rush subsciber to give me the exact text!):

“Democrats can do all the voter registration drives they want. They can register thousands and thousands of voters, but their cumulative intelligence will be the same as the eraserhead of a pencil.”

Basically, he was saying Democrats are stupid (which he stated several times) and un-informed about politics. He then proceeded to talk about how Democrat voters were duped by a Republican mailing (which he deemed a joke and found quite humorous) that stated election day was on wednesday instead of tuesday. I guess that was his justification for Democrat voters being stupid. I understand his point about the mailing, but seriously, why stereotype every single Dem voter?

I hate to re-hash history, but this is the same guy who stated the following about Donovan McNabb (a black NFL quarterback) while an employee of ESPN:

“The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well”, Limbaugh said. “There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn’t deserve. The defense carried this team.”

Yeah, nevermind the fact that McNabb is/was one of the top 10 QBs in the league with almost no supporting cast on offense. However, I guess stereotyping is just another day on the job for Rush. As such, I shouldn’t be surprised with his latest comments.  Let me put the shoe on the other foot for a moment; so that means Rush is a pain-killer/meds addict who is put on a pedestal by all republicans.  Also, every Republican who registers to vote is a toothless, imbred, hillbilly who loves to shop at wal-mart, and drink beer.

All I can say is, WOW, what an idiot. I apologize for picking on such a Republican icon, but comments like this are ludicrous. Rush does have some great points (especially about the media), and he usually backs them with source information. That’s what I listen for. It’s the times where he give his opinions that I change the channel.

PS:  My comments above are to illustrate a point, and are not intended to be read as truth; merely to illustrate my point.

Keep in mind Rush is also a self described entertainer and does things to raise the blood pressure of the left and garner pub for himself. He has been probably more successful than he could have ever imagined. When you have Democrats on C-Span events or on the floor of Congress calling him by name he wins.

P.S. Don’t forget that almost a year later ESPN reporter Steve Smith said Rush was right.

Point taken about the entertainer stuff. He is very good at what he does, but more often than not, people think what he says is “gospel” and then they run with it.

He doesn’t divulge his “entertainer” status nearly as much as he probably should. Personally, I think that its more of a cover for him. When he pushes the wrong buttons (that don’t benefit him as he thought), then he was entertaining. However, when it works, he’s a genius.

Steve Smith and Rush are both wrong. McNabb is a great QB; black, white, yellow, green, it doesn’t matter. His record as a QB is proof of that. If McNabb is overrated, so is Tom Brady. Brady played/plays on a similar style team. Their kicker/defense made every memorable play for those SB winning teams.

Rush cares nothing for the puplic, Rush cares for his own wealth and fame no more no less.
If the “ditto heads” think he is interested in them they should think of the five years of spouting his brand of “truth” on air while under the influence of Pain killers.
How could he even remember half of what he said back then, when a full staff of writers did all his research and he just read it on air.
There is no truth in him, and if there was how could you separate it from BS?

The growing minority demographic will marginalize Limbaugh’s pro white (conservative) viewpoints—and outside of South Carolina, how many conservatives do you find under the age of 30? Very few. Going forward Rush’s impact will fall upon deaf ears.

The facts say it all. He’s a draft dodging drug user who has no legitimate purpose on the air, none. He is not entertaining, he is a disgrace and his irritating bias while baseless has all the appeal of bloody train wreck and appeals to kind of sub species, a very idiocentric audience. He is very proud of his ignorance and his attacks on fellow Americans. He has only contempt for far more intelligent Americans, who do not agree with him on much, if anything, seem to get more baseless and outrageous. He has the same appeal as staged wrestling, kick boxing or any exhibition of stupidity where there is high praise for nothing of value, at least not the impact that a deluded Rush Limbaugh perceives. He’s sick and not too bright but he realizes that he can say whatever he wants and he is getting rich because so many are fascinated by his instability and inability to ever be objective, insightful, fair or relevant.

So your point is what? That Rush is an idiot for inferring that Democrats are stupid?

That’s what you are all upset about? That Rush called some folks stupid. So, for that, you call him an idiot?

Of all the things to discuss and argue with Rush about, that is your best?
